Goda Faw - Goan Sweet Parched Rice |
Ingredients:
1 cup parched rice (faw)
1 cup grated coconut
2 tablespoon shaved/grated jaggery
10-15 cashew nuts (chopped)
pinch of crushed cardamom
Directions:
1. Soak the parched rice in a bowl with a cup or two of water for a couple minutes. Drain and keep aside.
2. In a different bowl, place the grated coconut.
3. Add the jaggery to the bowl with the coconut.
4. Add the chopped cashew nuts and the pinch of cardamom next.
5. Add the soaked rice to the mix and combine all the ingredients.
6. Serve at room temperature in a saucer, hopefully accompanied by a steaming hot cup of Rose tea.
